Childrens Lessons

Children can start riding once they have reached their fouth birthday. We then recommend that they start with a half hour walk out where they are lead on a pony, by one of our staff, for a short ride. This allows them to start to develop a "seat" and a natural balance. From this they progress to a beginner lesson group as they learn their left and right.

We run our own examination system for children including a course for tiny’s age four to seven and progressive tests for older children. These are obtained by working in your set group – all of the ride works to the same exam together, with the help of their instructor. Lovely badges and certificates are awarded.

Pony Club

PVRC is an approved Pony Club Centre. This allows all children at any level who either have their own pony or a PVRC yard pony to have access to the full training and exams/tests under the Pony Club banner. We hold badge days, riding rallies, PC shows, one day events and more, covering the stable management and riding categories for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and the Pony Club test sheets D, D+, C & C+ Feel free to ring or pop in and ask any questions you might have.
