Childrens Lessons
Children can start riding once they have reached their fouth
birthday. We then recommend that they start with a half hour walk out
where they are lead on a pony, by one of our staff, for a short ride.
This allows them to start to develop a "seat" and a natural
balance. From this they progress to a beginner lesson group as they learn
their left and right.
We run our own examination system for children including a
course for tiny’s age four to seven and progressive tests for older children.
These are obtained by working in your set group – all of the ride works
to the same exam together, with the help of their instructor. Lovely badges
and certificates are awarded.
Pony Club
PVRC is now an approved Pony Club Centre. This allows any children that do not have their own pony to finally have the opportunity to join the Pony Club. This allows us to hold rallies at our premises enabling children to have lots of fun and take their Pony Club tests. This is a marvellous step forward for all the enjoy the benefits of the club.
Quote from A.P. Wardle, Chief Executive of The Pony Club:
“It is our intention that through Pony Club Centres, we can enable young riders to broaden their knowledge or horsemanship and work towards taking our Tests, as well as gaining Achievement Badges. We also hope that your Members will get together for talks/instruction as agroup and that you will be able to forge close links with your local Branch and their Members.”
